Founded in 2016, Summit Sports & Social (formerly Stay in Play Recreation) is the premier provider of adult recreational sports leagues, fun-filled social events, and tournaments in the Akron/Canton area. We offer a variety of co-ed sports geared toward young professionals and multigenerational groups in the area. With a focus on sand volleyball, we also offer kickball, Spikeball, bocce ball, and dodgeball – and we’re just getting started.

Canal Courts:
Sand Volleyball
Our main facility is located in downtown Akron, directly under the historic Goodrich smokestacks right off the Towpath Trail with nearly 100,000 square feet to socialize and play. The new brewery district featuring Missing Falls and R. Shea is conveniently located adjacent to our four sand volleyball courts, between Main Street and W. Bartges. Thanks to support from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Ohio and Erie Canalway Coalition – The Canal Courts are our home base for sand volleyball leagues, tournaments and other events. Outside of programmed activity, these courts and open and free to use by the public.

Indoor volleyball & More!
Our indoor home is located right on the county line at 313 Medina Road. As an official partner of Summit Sports & Social, Pinnacle is a family-friendly facility that boasts 4 brand-new volleyball courts, 2 full size turfed indoor soccer fields, a full size indoor softball field, and countless other amenities. We’re thrilled to be working in partnership with this location to bring our participants even more fun leagues and activities.
